I was looking around for a simple yet free software utility that would allow for easy remote access to a PC without the troublesome issues of opening up ports on a router/firewall or tedious installs for the end-user to complete. TeamViewer is a perfect fit and it’s free. This will allow you to download and install the server side of the application on your machine and send out an invite from the program to the user or friend that you need to connect to. Once they launch the exe from the link provided in the email and key in the session ID and password your quickly and (painlessly I might add) connected to their machine.

While I have used VNC in the past and it’s a great program, it does have a small learning curve for the end user, several ports have to be open in order to gain access (5800 and 5900) in addition both of these ports have to be open on windows firewall, any 3rd party firewall utility and the hardware router/firewall if there is one….so not user friendly.

TeamViewer on the other hand is simple and to the point. Get in…Fix it…Get Out. That should be their slogan if they needed one. So if you’re in need of a remote utility to gain access to another machine give TeamViewer a try…it won’t disappoint.

Christine is a movie made in 1983 about a 1958 Plymouth Fury that is to say….well…POSSESSED! When the vehicle was build in the assembly plant a worker injured his hand on the cars hood as it slammed down, so naturally from that point forward during the movie (and life of the car) it has supernatural freak-like accidents that randomly kill people. Keith Gordon as (Arnie Cunningham) was a high-school kid that was on the lookout for his first car. When he came across the car in front of the old trashed house he decided he must have it (even though the car was in major need of work)

As Arnie starts to restore this vehicle with the small amounts of cash from summer jobs through the year he gets the vehicle back in mint condition only to turn around and have some high school gang members destroy it with bats and sledge hammers. Arnie sees the wreck of Christine the next day and is totally shocked that all the work he put into restoring the car has been destroyed. Arnie then shows his slow descent into darkness, evidenced by angrily blaming Leigh for the wreck, and displaying further problems with his temper, getting into arguments with his parents and having a scuffle with his father, which Arnie wins by grabbing his father by the neck.

He is determined to restore Christine yet again to her former glory. The next day he goes back to the garage where Christine is. As he looks her over, he turns his back and hears the crinkling of metal behind him. Arnie looks at Christine again and sees that part of her engine is now repaired. Arnie simply smiles and says, “Okay… show me.” Christine, flickering her headlights on, then comes to life and restores herself so she looks good as new. Subsequently, Christine seeks out and kills the individual members of the gang who destroyed her, one by one.

The movie is old but for it’s time has really impressive effects when the car starts to rebuild itself….maybe it’s time to look for a Fury of my own…”Okay…show me”….
