I was looking around for a simple yet free software utility that would allow for easy remote access to a PC without the troublesome issues of opening up ports on a router/firewall or tedious installs for the end-user to complete. TeamViewer is a perfect fit and it’s free. This will allow you to download and install the server side of the application on your machine and send out an invite from the program to the user or friend that you need to connect to. Once they launch the exe from the link provided in the email and key in the session ID and password your quickly and (painlessly I might add) connected to their machine.
While I have used VNC in the past and it’s a great program, it does have a small learning curve for the end user, several ports have to be open in order to gain access (5800 and 5900) in addition both of these ports have to be open on windows firewall, any 3rd party firewall utility and the hardware router/firewall if there is one….so not user friendly.
TeamViewer on the other hand is simple and to the point. Get in…Fix it…Get Out. That should be their slogan if they needed one. So if you’re in need of a remote utility to gain access to another machine give TeamViewer a try…it won’t disappoint.

John Albert Gardner is suspected in the rape and slaying of 17-year-old Chelsea King last week. His attorney for the hearing, Michael Popkins, entered not guilty pleas for Gardner, saying that his client denied all the allegations. During the date-setting portion of the hearing, Gardner spoke only a single word, “yes,” otherwise allowing his attorney to speak for him. The suspect spent the hearing in shackles, mostly looking downward.
Meanwhile investigators have located Amber Dubois skeletal remains approximately 25 miles from the location where Chelsea King’ s body was found. Law enforcement have not stated whether Gardner charged with the murder and rape of 17-year-old Chelsea King, provided the tip to authorities. Her body has been missing over a year and just recently surfaced. I’m really interested in who led the authorities to this location. I mean it’s only recently that Gardner was taken into custody, so it makes one believe that either he gave them information on where the body is to possibly reduce his sentence or to completely get off of the death penelty.
I’m sure the family of Amber Dubois are glad to get closure on this tragic event in their lives. But hopefully investigators and will find more details in the remains to help determine the killer and reason for the attack. With Gardner’s family living nearby in a sub-division behind the trails where the body was found, and her car parked at the entrance of the walking trail along with his DNA on her clothing. I don’t see any out for this case, it should be cut-n-dry. But as a recent jury on a case I can see how difficult it is to convict anyone.
